In 1994 John Millberg and Frank Gordon departed a large firm in Raleigh to found Millberg Gordon. They sought to establish a small firm based on a commitment to client relationships and a respect for the legal profession. In the years since the founding of the firm, MGS has garnered a reputation for providing a high standard of legal advice and representation, while remaining true to its goal of ensuring personalized service for each client.

The firm officially became Millberg Gordon Stewart PLLC in 2001, when Bill Stewart was made a partner in the firm.  Since that time, MGS has grown into a firm of six attorneys and five staff members, representing a variety of clients in both North and South Carolina.

Over the years, MGS has developed a sophisticated client base of various businesses, including railroads, trucking companies, construction companies, manufacturers and insurance companies. Our clients range in size from small local businesses to large Fortune 500 companies.

Millberg Gordon Stewart was originally founded as a civil litigation firm and continues to engage in an extensive practice in that arena.
