Mr. Millberg received his Juris Doctor from Wake Forest University and then practiced in Houston, Texas, for five years before returning to North Carolina. He practiced law for several years with the Maupin Taylor firm in Raleigh, where he served on the firm’s Executive Committee and Attorney Compensation Committee. In 1994, he and partner Frank Gordon founded Millberg and Gordon, which became Millberg Gordon Stewart in 2001.
Mr. Millberg engages in an active trial practice. He has tried to a verdict many wrongful death actions. He has tried a multitude of cases involving severe brain damage, amputations, and other serious injuries. He has also tried several cases arising out of commercial disputes.
Mr. Millberg is an active member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel, previously serving on the Executive Committee and as the Southeast Regional Vice-President. He has lectured on civil trial subjects in North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Colorado, Florida, California, Utah, West Virginia, Massachusetts and the District of Columbia.
Mr. Millberg is married and has three children. He is a member of the North Raleigh Church of Christ, having served as a Deacon and as Chairman of the Board of Directors. He also serves on the Board of the YMCA's Camp Kanata in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Despite his plainly unsuccessful athletic career, he still tries to play basketball, golf, water ski and snow ski when he is not practicing law.
