Mr. Stewart was raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. He left for Mississippi in 1983 to play college football and stayed long enough to get his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor from Mississippi College, where he served as Managing Editor of the Law Review. After law school, he returned to North Carolina and clerked for the Honorable Franklin T. Dupree, Jr., Senior U.S. District Judge for the Eastern District of North Carolina. Following his clerkship, Mr. Stewart became associated with Millberg & Gordon and was engaged in a civil litigation practice for six years until becoming a partner with Millberg Gordon Stewart in 2001.

Mr. Stewart has handled numerous tort, breach of contract, insurance and commercial actions in the state and federal courts of North and South Carolina. He is currently outside trial counsel to several railroads in the Carolinas, defending them in actions for wrongful death, workplace injury and property damage. He has been a lecturer at the North Carolina Highway Patrol and for local law enforcement agencies on the subject of railroad accident investigation. In addition to his railroad practice, Mr. Stewart continues to defend companies in tort litigation including premises liability and product defects.

Mr. Stewart is married and has three children. In his free time, he enjoys fishing, exercising and gardening. Mr. Stewart is a member of Apex Baptist Church in Apex, North Carolina and serves on the Apex High School Cougar Club Board of Directors.
